Christmas in North Platte: Peace, Hope, and the Meaning of Home

Christmas here in Nebraska often feels quieter, and that’s a gift. It creates space to remember that the true meaning of Christmas isn’t found in busy schedules or material things, but in the peace and hope we have through Jesus Christ.
For many families here, home is more than a structure. It’s where faith is lived out in ordinary moments, where families gather, and where traditions are carried forward from one generation to the next. These homes hold stories—of prayer, perseverance, and everyday life shared together.
At Christmas, we’re reminded that real peace doesn’t come from circumstances lining up perfectly, but from Christ Himself. As the angels proclaimed at His birth:
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom He is pleased.” — Luke 2:14
As you celebrate this season, our hope is that your home is filled with peace, hope, and meaningful time with those you love.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours.— Timothy & Laura Johnson
